5 Helpful Travel Tips for a Late Summer Getaway

Can you believe that August is already here? For many of us, it’s a busy month since the kids will be starting school again soon and summer will be unofficially over. Have you been wanting to take a vacation but haven’t had a chance yet? Fear not because there is still plenty of time and fantastic weather left for you to fit in the perfect late summer getaway.

Here are five helpful travel tips to make your late summer vacation planning even easier:

1. Set a budget

Knowing how much money you can realistically spend for a vacation will help you decide where you can go and how long you can stay. If you want (or need!) to save money and stay close to home, for example, there are beautiful campground sites near Atlanta you may consider.

2. Save money by being flexible

Many travel sites offer discounted rates on airfare and hotels, but you have to be prepared to act quickly. By being flexible with your travel dates and destinations, you can easily take advantage of these great savings.

3. Travel at the right times

Do you want to avoid crowds and traffic? Consider travelling between Tuesday and Thursday if you’re heading towards the coast. If you’re heading into a city, however, then weekends may be a better time. Do some research to see if any major sporting events, concerts, etc. are scheduled to take place at your desired destination during the same time as your vacation so you’re not dealing with overbooked hotels and/or rental properties.

4. Go all-inclusive

Bundled pricing can make your vacation planning even easier. All-inclusive resorts offer several benefits for families with regards to food and entertainment. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

5. Fly mid-week

If your vacation plans involve flying, it’s good to know that many of the best airfares are reserved for the middle of the week. Flying on Tuesdays and Wednesdays can potentially save you hundreds of dollars.

We hope these travel tips help you get started towards planning the trip you’ve been dreaming of.

Here’s to a wonderful and well-earned vacation!
